Section 7 — Meaning of “suitable to adopt”

In considering whether joint or sole applicants are suitable to adopt a child, an authorised adoption agency, the Guardian‑in‑Adoption and the court determining the adoption application must assess the applicants’ suitability to adopt by reference (but not limited) to —

(a)the factors prescribed by the regulations; and

(b)any applicable ruling, decision or judicial pronouncement by any court in relation to a matter involving an adoption of a child.
