§ 7 — Meaning of “suitable to adopt”

7. In considering whether joint or sole applicants are suitable to adopt a child, an authorised adoption agency, the Guardian‑in‑Adoption and the court determining the adoption application must assess the applicants’ suitability to adopt by reference (but not limited) to —(a)

the factors prescribed by the regulations; and

(b)

any applicable ruling, decision or judicial pronouncement by any court in relation to a matter involving an adoption of a child.
