§ 520 — Artistic works made before 10 April 1987 — no copyright if work is registrable design

520. This Act does not confer any copyright on an artistic work made before 10 April 1987 if the work, when it was made —(a)

was a design capable of being registered under the Patents and Designs Act 1907 of the United Kingdom (U.K. 1907, c. 29); and

(b)

was used, or intended to be used, as a model or pattern to be multiplied by an industrial process.
