§ 73 — Purpose for which powers are exercisable
73.—(1) An authorised officer may exercise the powers set out in this Part for all or any of the following purposes:(a)
to detect and investigate offences under this Act, whether committed by a licensee or any other person;
(b)
to determine whether there are grounds for taking any regulatory action under Division 4 of Part 6;
(c)
to determine whether information given to the LTA or an authorised officer under any provision of this Act is correct.
(2) To avoid doubt, nothing in this Part limits section 39 of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore Act 1995 with respect to an offence under this Act.
(3) Nothing in this Part affects a police officer’s powers or duties under any provision of the Criminal Procedure Code 2010 or any other written law.
