§ 2 — Purposes of Act

2. The purposes of this Act are —(a)

to authorise some gambling and prohibit the rest as unlawful gambling;

(b)

to prohibit advertising of unlawful gambling;

(c)

to minimise social harm associated with gambling, including problem gambling;

(d)

to ensure the integrity and fairness of gambling and ban irresponsible gambling products and practices; and

(e)

to limit opportunities for crime or dishonesty associated with gambling and the conduct of gambling.
