Section 38 — Public officers, etc., not to be members of platform work association

(1)Subject to subsection (2), a person who is a public officer, or an officer or employee of any public authority, must not join or be a member of any platform work association or be accepted as a member by any platform work association.

(2)The President may, by notification in the Gazette, exempt any class or description of public officer, or officer or employee of any public authority, from subsection (1), subject to any conditions specified in the notification.

(3)In this section, “public authority” means a body established or constituted by or under a public Act to perform or discharge a public function.
