§ 17 — Forfeiture of abandoned land

17. Subject to section 18, any land that has been abandoned for 3 years or more by —(a)

the person to whom the land was alienated or demised by or on behalf of the State; or

(b)

any person claiming title through a person in paragraph (a),

shall be forfeited to the State even though some person may be found in occupation of the land or of any part of that land.
