§ 30 — Enforcement officers

30.—(1) The Authority may, in relation to any provision of this Act, appoint any of the following individuals to be an enforcement officer to assist the Authority in the administration of this Act in any particular area in Singapore:(a)

any public officer, or any employee of a public authority (but not a Town Council);

(b)

an individual who is an auxiliary police officer appointed under the Police Force Act 2004.

(2) The Authority may, for any reason that appears to the Authority to be sufficient, at any time revoke an individual’s appointment as an enforcement officer.

(3) The Authority must issue to each enforcement officer an identification card, which must be carried at all times by the enforcement officer when exercising powers under this Act.

(4) An enforcement officer is not an employee of the Authority.

(5) An individual who is appointed as an enforcement officer under subsection (1) does not, by virtue only of the appointment, become an agent of the Authority.

(6) An individual whose appointment as an enforcement officer ceases must return any identification card issued to the individual under subsection (3) to the Authority.
