§ 50 — Saving and transitional provisions

50.—(1) Subject to the adaptations provided in the Schedule, this Act applies to and in relation to every person holding a licence that is —(a)

granted under Part 3 of the Parking Places Act 1974 (as in force before 22 July 2020) to provide a licensable service before 22 July 2020; and

(b)

in force immediately before that date.

(2) Despite anything in this Act, any person who, on 22 July 2020, is providing a shared mobility service within the meaning of paragraph (a)(ii), (iii) or (iv) of the definition of “shared mobility service” in section 3(1) may continue to provide that service —(a)

for 2 months after that date or until an order under section 17 is earlier made applicable to the person; or

(b)

for 2 months after that date and, if within that period the person applies for a licence under Part 3, for a further period ending on the happening of the earlier of the following:(i)

the date on which the LTA grants a licence to the person;

(ii)

the date that the application is refused or withdrawn.

(3) For a period of 2 years after 22 July 2020, the Minister may, by order in the Gazette, amend the Schedule by prescribing any additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of this section that the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.

(4) Nothing in this section or the Schedule affects section 16 of the Interpretation Act 1965.

the date on which the LTA grants a licence to the person;

(ii)

(3) For a period of 2 years after 22 July 2020, the Minister may, by order in the Gazette, amend the Schedule by prescribing any additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of this section that the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.

(4) Nothing in this section or the Schedule affects section 16 of the Interpretation Act 1965.
