The A.C. main supply is transformed into a low D.C. voltage high currentgenerator and by controlling the current value the heat is transferred to the prepreg with great thermal exchange efficiency. 52ADARA 使The Adara heating technology allows a uniform temperature distribution inside the complete stack under pressure. 52便Top and bottom base plates of the press are heated by resistances in order to follow the stack temperature . 52THERMOCOUPLES 便In addition to the ones inside the stack to control the real temperature, other 2 sensors are located in the top and bottom base plates in order to control their temperature: all four temperaturesare shown in the operator control panel in the computer rack. 5 READ TEMPERATURE VALUEPRESET TEMPERATURE調DURING THE PRESS CYCLE, THE COMPUTER READS THE STACK TEMPERATURE BY 4 THERMOCOUPLES. TWO OFTHESE ARE IN THE STACK WHILE THE OTHERS ARE AT TOP AND BOTTOM PLANES OF THE PRESS. THE READ TEMPERATURE VALUE IS COMPARED CONTINUOUSLY WITH THE PRESET TEMPERATURE, SO THE ELECTRICAL CURRENT ON THE COPPER FOIL IS ADJUSTED FOR OBTAINING THE MINIMUM DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE TWO PARAMETERS . IF THE STACK TEMPERATURE IS GOING OVER THE SET VALUE , THE CURRENT ON THE STACK IS REDUCED AUTOMATICALLY . VICE VERSA THE CURRENT IS INCREASED WHEN THE STACK TEMPERATURE IS GOING DOWN THE SET VALUE. 111010 10Page221419The computer ,as its main function, computes temperature dataand decides how much current to apply to the stack at any given moment. It monitors differences in temperature between four points in the pressand makes decisions as to what actions to take to correct any differences over a predeterminedvalue.Example: the heater elements will be activated depending on the differences between the top and bottom of the stack and the average of the two in the center of the stack. 10Page2619Because there is no perfect insulation material , heat will be lost from the stack to the press unless something is provided to compensate for this loss . There are two thermal barriers permanently installed. One is in the upper platen and the other is in the lower part of the press, they are identical. Each barrier contains electrical heating elements that are controlled by a separate power supply, (not the main power supply). These elements are heated independently of the stack of materials. The amount of heat necessary by the heating elements to run the press cycle is controlled by the computer.A thermocouple is installed in each thermal barrier. The computer reads the temperature in the barriers, when a difference is detected the heater will be activated and the barriers are heated until there is no longer a difference.
