§ 288 — Only authorised analyst may supply certificate of analysis

288.—(1) Only an authorised analyst may issue to a food security officer, an authorised officer or a food inspector submitting an article for analysis, a certificate of analysis mentioned in section 289(1) setting out the result of the analysis done by or under the supervision of the authorised analyst.(2) A person commits an offence if —(a)

the person issues to a food security officer, an authorised officer or a food inspector submitting an article for analysis, a document purporting to be a certificate of analysis mentioned in section 289(1); and

(b)

the person is not an authorised analyst at the time of issuing.

(3) A person who is guilty of an offence under subsection (2) shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
