§ 302 — Reasonable belief by authorised officer, etc.

302.—(1) If this Act requires an authorised officer or a food inspector to reasonably believe something before exercising a power, it is sufficient if the Director‑General or a more highly ranked authorised officer or food inspector reasonably believes it and directs the authorised officer or food inspector (as the case may be) to exercise the power.(2) If this Act requires a food security officer to reasonably believe something before exercising a power, it is sufficient if the Director‑General, Food Security or a more highly ranked food security officer reasonably believes it and directs the food security officer to exercise the power.

—(1) If this Act requires an authorised officer or a food inspector to reasonably believe something before exercising a power, it is sufficient if the Director‑General or a more highly ranked authorised officer or food inspector reasonably believes it and directs the authorised officer or food inspector (as the case may be) to exercise the power.

(2) If this Act requires a food security officer to reasonably believe something before exercising a power, it is sufficient if the Director‑General, Food Security or a more highly ranked food security officer reasonably believes it and directs the food security officer to exercise the power.
