s 72 Composition of offences
72.—(1) The Director-General may compound any offence under this Act which is prescribed to be a compoundable offence by accepting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding the lower of the following:(a) one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence; (b) $15,000.[26/2007] (2) On payment of the sum of money, no further proceedings may be taken against that person in respect of the offence except that any compensation, damages, fees, costs or expenses which are provided to be paid under this Act remain payable. (3) Nothing in this section prevents the Director‑General from issuing any further notice in respect of the same matter to the person who has paid the sum of money.
