s 3 Administration of this Act
3. —(1) Except as otherwise provided by this Act, the Director-General of Health is, subject to any general or special directions of the appropriate Minister, responsible for the administration of Parts 3, 4, 6 and 7A and sections 26, 27, 31, 32, 45A and 45B. [5/2019] [Act 11 of 2023 wef 01/05/2023] (2) Except as otherwise provided by this Act, the Director‑General of Public Health and the Director‑General, Food Administration are, subject to any general or special directions of the appropriate Minister, responsible for the administration of Part 5, except sections 26, 27, 31, 32, 45A and 45B. [5/2019; 11/2019] [Act 11 of 2023 wef 01/05/2023] (3) The appropriate Minister may, by notification in the Gazette , direct that the powers conferred on the Director-General of Health under Part 3 be exercised by the Director‑General of Public Health or the Director‑General, Food Administration in relation to the matters specified in the notifications. [11/2019] [Act 11 of 2023 wef 01/05/2023] (4) For the purposes of exercising the powers under Part 3 in relation to matters mentioned in subsection (3), any reference to the Director-General of Health in that Part is a reference to the Director‑General of Public Health or the Director‑General, Food Administration, as the case may be. [11/2019] [Act 11 of 2023 wef 01/05/2023] (5) To avoid doubt, Part 5 does not prevent the exercise of any power conferred by another Part in relation to any vessel, person or article to which Part 5 applies.
