s 8 Publisher of newspaper to be newspaper company unless exempted from this Part
8.—(1) A newspaper to which this Part applies must not be published in Singapore except by a newspaper company unless the newspaper has been exempted from the provisions of this Part. (2) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $50,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both. (3) For the purposes of subsection (1), a newspaper is deemed to be published outside Singapore if its contents and editorial policy are determined outside Singapore and its sales or distribution are not intended primarily for Singapore.
