s 58 Jurisdiction during overseas service
58. —(1) Section 59 applies to any act done or omitted outside Singapore by any police officer or special police officer while — ( a ) he or she is serving outside Singapore pursuant to any order made under section 56; ( b ) he or she is a member of a unit of the Police Force forming part of a United Nations force serving outside Singapore; or ( c ) he or she is a member of any overseas operation mentioned in section 56(1)( c ) and is outside Singapore. (2) For the purposes of this section — ( a ) a person is deemed to start serving outside Singapore pursuant to an order made under section 56 from the time he or she leaves Singapore to undertake those duties until the time he or she returns to Singapore; ( b ) a unit of the Police Force is deemed to form part of a United Nations force from the time the unit leaves Singapore to undertake duties with the United Nations force until the time the unit returns to Singapore; and ( c ) a person is deemed to be a member of any overseas operation mentioned in section 56(1)( c ) from the time he or she leaves Singapore to undertake duties with the overseas operation until the time he or she returns to Singapore. —(1) Section 59 applies to any act done or omitted outside Singapore by any police officer or special police officer while — ( a ) he or she is serving outside Singapore pursuant to any order made under section 56; ( b ) he or she is a member of a unit of the Police Force forming part of a United Nations force serving outside Singapore; or ( c ) he or she is a member of any overseas operation mentioned in section 56(1)( c ) and is outside Singapore.
