Article 1

The aid awarded by the Italian Government to the Italian newsprint industry within the framework of the application of Law No 1453/35 and of the Presidential Decree dated 18 April 1979 - in the form of acquisitions of increasing amounts of domestically produced newsprint by the ENCC, as well as in the form of artificially high purchase prices in comparison with the market price - is incompatible with the common market and therefore must be abolished from the date of notification of this Decision.

Article 2

The Italian Governement shall inform the Commission within two months of the date of notification of this Decision of the measures it has taken to comply herewith.

Article 3
