Article 1

The provisions applicable to the marketing and use of creosote, as contained in Chapter 7 of Law No 212 of 23 May 1979 are approved, in so far as they are applied in such a manner: - that the limits for benzo[a]pyrene and water extractable phenols established by Directive 94/60/EC are not exceeded, and - that the placing on the market and use of creosote are allowed when compatible with the need to protect health and the environment.
