2001/404/EC: Council Decision of 28 May 2001 on the conclusion of an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the Argentine Republic pursuant to Article XXVIII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994 for the modification of concessions with respect to garlic provided for in Schedule CXL annexed to the GATT

Article 1

The Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the Argentine Republic pursuant to Article XXVIII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994 for the modification of concessions with respect to garlic provided for in Schedule CXL annexed to the GATT, is hereby approved on behalf of the Community.

The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

Article 2

The Commission, assisted by the Committee established by Article 45 of Regulation (EC) No 2200/96, shall adopt the necessary measures for managing the tariff quotas provided for in the Agreement in accordance with the procedure provided for in Article 46 of that Regulation.

Article 3

The President of the Council is hereby authorised to designate the person empowered to sign the Agreement in order to bind the Community(2).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
