Article 1

The Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of South Africa on trade in wine together with the attached Annexes, Protocol and Declarations are hereby approved on behalf of the Community. The texts referred to in the first subparagraph are attached hereto.

Article 2

The President of the Council is hereby authorised to designate the persons empowered to sign the Agreement in order to bind the Community.

Article 3

For the purposes of applying Articles 7(8) and 18(2) of the Agreement the Commission is hereby authorised, in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 75 of Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999, to conclude the instruments required to amend the Agreement.

Article 4

The Commission shall represent the Community in the Joint Committee set up by Article 19 of the Agreement. Done at Brussels, 21 January 2002. For the Council The President M.
