Article 1
The EU military operation in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia shall be launched on 31 March 2003.

Article 2
The Operation Commander is hereby authorised with immediate effect to release the activation order (ACTORD) in order to commence the deployment of the forces, prior to transfer of authority following their arrival in theatre, and start execution of the mission.
Article 3
The anticipated duration of the EU operation in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is six months. The Political and Security Committee shall, based on EUMC advice, drawing upon the views of the Operation Commander, and taking into account the opinion of the Committee of Contributors, make this recommendation to the Council for the termination of the operation. This will follow an assessment of progress made towards the EU objectives.
Article 4
This Decision shall take effect on the date of its adoption.
