Article 1

The signing, on behalf of the Union, of the Protocol setting out the fishing opportunities and the financial contribution provided for by the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Madagascar and the European Community is hereby authorised on behalf of the Union, subject to the conclusion of the Protocol. The text of the Protocol is attached to this Decision.

The President of the Council shall, on behalf of the Union, designate the person empowered to sign the Protocol.

The Protocol shall apply on a provisional basis, in accordance with Article 15 thereof, from the date on which it is signed  ( 2 ) and from 1 January 2015 at the earliest, pending completion of the procedures necessary for its conclusions.

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
