Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 647/2014 of 12 June 2014 concerning the classification of certain goods in the Combined Nomenclature

Article 1

The goods described in column (1) of the table set out in the Annex shall be classified within the Combined Nomenclature under the CN code indicated in column (2) of that table.

Article 2

Binding tariff information which does not conform to this Regulation may continue to be invoked in accordance with Article 12(6) of Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92 for a period of three months from the date of entry into force of this Regulation.

Article 3

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .

A cylindrical hollow product of aluminium, tapered at one end (nipples) and equipped with a lever lock ring.

The product is presented as a coupling for hoses.

Classification is determined by general rule 1 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature and by the wording of CN code 7609 00 00 .

Heading 7609 covers couplings for connecting the bores of two tubes (see also the Harmonized System Explanatory Notes to heading 7609 and heading 7307 ). As hoses are considered a kind of tube, couplings for hoses also fall under the scope of this heading.

As the product is covered by one of the headings of Chapter 76 its classification under heading 7616 as other articles of aluminium is excluded.

The product is therefore to be classified under CN code 7609 00 00 as aluminium tube or pipe fittings.
