The Agreement between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and Iceland, of the other part, concerning Iceland's participation in the joint fulfilment of commitments by the European Union, its Member States and Iceland for the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (hereafter referred to as βthe Agreementβ) is hereby approved on behalf of the Union.
The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.
The President of the Council shall designate the person(s) empowered to deposit, on behalf of the Union, the instrument of ratification provided for in Article 10 of the Agreement with the Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, in order to express the consent of the Union to be bound by that Agreement.
