Article 1

The Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and Ukraine, of the other part, together with the Annexes and Protocols thereto (hereinafter ‘the Agreement’), is hereby approved on behalf of the Union, as regards Article 17 thereof  ( 6 ) .

The President of the Council shall, on behalf of the Union, give the notification provided for in Article 486(2) of the Agreement, in order to express the consent of the Union to be bound by the Agreement  ( 7 ) .

The Agreement shall not be construed as conferring rights or imposing obligations which can be directly invoked before Union or Member State courts and tribunals.

This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its adoption.
