Council Decision (CFSP) 2020/563 of 23 April 2020 amending Decision 2013/184/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Myanmar/Burma

Decision 2013/184/CFSP is amended as follows: (1) Article 12 is replaced by the following: ‘Article 12 This Decision shall apply until 30 April 2021. It shall be kept under constant review. It shall be renewed, or amended as appropriate, if the Council deems that its objectives have not been met.’; (2) the Annex is amended as set out in the Annex to this Decision.
This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
ANNEX Entry 3 in the list of persons and entities set out in the Annex to Decision 2013/184/CFSP is replaced by the following entry: Name Identifying information Reasons Date of listing ‘3. Than Oo Date of birth: 12 October 1973 Gender: male Military identification number: BC 25723 Brigadier General Than Oo was the Commander of the 99th Light Infantry Division of the Myanmar Armed Forces (Tatmadaw) until May 2018. In that context, he is responsible for the atrocities and serious human rights violations committed against the Rohingya population in Rakhine State in the second half of 2017 by the 99th Light Infantry Division. These include unlawful killings, sexual violence and the systematic burning of Rohingya houses and buildings. 25.6.2018’
