Article 1

Annex XIII to Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .

The measures in point 1.1(b) of the Annex shall apply from 1 June 2022.

Point 1.1 is amended as follows:

‘1.1.

It shall be prohibited:

(a)

for vessels with an overall length of 12 m or more to use the fishing gear in specific areas as defined below without the simultaneous use of active acoustic deterrent devices.
