Article 1

1. The customs authorities are hereby directed, under Article 14(5) of Regulation (EU) 2016/1036, to take the appropriate steps to register imports into the Union of valine and its esters, salts thereof, as a separate chemically defined organic compound, whether or not containing impurities, currently classified under CN code 2922 49 85 (TARIC code 2922 49 85 87) and originating in the People’s Republic of China. 2. Registration shall expire nine months following the date of entry into force of this Regulation.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
