Article 1

The Interim Agreement on Trade between the European Union and the United Mexican States (the ‘ITA’) is hereby approved.

Article 2

1.   For the purposes of Article 2.22(4) of the ITA, any modification to the product definitions and oenological practices and restrictions set out in Parts A and B of Annex 2-E to the ITA shall be approved by the Commission on behalf of the Union, following consultation of the Trade Policy Committee. 2.   For the purposes of Article 2.24(8) of the ITA, any modification to the documentation and certification set out in Part D of Annex 2-E to the ITA shall be approved by the Commission on behalf of the Union, following consultation of the Trade Policy Committee.

Article 3

For the purposes of Article 21.18 of the ITA, any modification to or rectification of commitments set out in Annexes 21-A and 21-B to the ITA shall be approved by the Commission on behalf of the Union, following consultation of the Trade Policy Committee.

Article 4

1.   For the purposes of Article 25.35 of the ITA, any modification to the list of geographical indications set out in Annex 25-B of the ITA, and any amendment of Annex I or II to the Spirits Agreement  ( 4 ) , incorporated into the ITA pursuant to Article 25.41 of the ITA, shall be approved by the Commission on behalf of the Union, following consultation of the Trade Policy Committee. 2.   Where interested parties cannot reach an agreement following objections relating to a geographical indication, the Commission shall adopt a position on the basis of the procedure laid down in Article 88(2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the Council  ( 5 ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
