Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1973 of 1 September 2026 concerning certain interim emergency measures relating to African swine fever in Italy (notified under document C(2026) 6204)
Italy shall establish an infected zone for African swine fever in accordance with Article 63 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687 and Article 3, point (b), of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/594. That zone shall comprise at least the areas listed in the Annex to this Decision, and it shall be maintained during the time set out in the Annex.
In the areas listed as an infected zone in the Annex to this Decision, Italy shall apply until the dates specified in the Annex:
(a)
the special disease control measures applicable to restricted zones II laid down in Article 8(2) of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/594;
(b)
the measures provided for in Article 8(3) and (4) of that Implementing Regulation; and
(c)
the disease control measures laid down in Articles 63 to 66 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687.
This Decision shall apply until 30 November 2026.
This Decision is addressed to the Italian Republic.

The area of the Città metropolitana di Roma Capitale limited:
—
to the south by the Grande Raccordo Anulare (A90),
—
to the west by Regional Road SR 2 bis Via Cassia Veientana and State Road SS 2 Via Cassia,
—
to the east by Via Nomentana (SP 22a), Via Sandro Pertini (SP 25b), Via Castelchiodato (SP 25a) and the A1/E45 Autostrada del Sole motorway,
—
to the north by the boundary between the Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale and the Province of Viterbo, in the section extending from State Road SS 2 Via Cassia in the west to the A1/E45 Autostrada del Sole motorway in the east.
