Article 1

1.   The customs authorities are hereby directed, under Article 14(5) of Regulation (EU) 2016/1036, to take the appropriate steps to register imports into the Union of solid glass microspheres (commercially known as ‘glass beads’) not exceeding 2 mm in diameter, with surface either coated or uncoated, irrespective of the intended use or production process, currently falling within CN codes ex 7002 10 00 , ex 7018 10 90 , ex 7018 20 00 and ex 7018 90 90 (TARIC codes 7002 10 00 20, 7018 10 90 10, 7018 20 00 10 and 7018 90 90 10) and originating in the People’s Republic of China. The product made subject to registration does not include products defined as ‘glass beads’ that have the form of small pierced balls, currently falling within CN codes 7018 10 11 and 7018 10 19 . 2.   Registration shall expire nine months following the date of entry into force of this Regulation.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
