Article 1

The State aid which Italy plans to grant to Fiat Auto at Melfi, amounting to ITL 78 billion, is compatible with the common market within the meaning of Article 87(3)(a) of the Treaty. Implementation of the aid, amounting to ITL 78 billion, is accordingly authorised.
