Article 9

Amendments 1. The definitions in Article 2 may be amended in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 7(2) in order to take account of developments at international level, in particular, in the IMO and to improve the effectiveness of this Regulation in the light of experience and of technical progress, insofar as such amendments do not broaden the scope of this Regulation. 2. Any amendment to the Conventions may be excluded from the scope of this Regulation, pursuant to Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 2099/2002.
