Article 1

The signing of the Convention on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters, which will replace the Lugano Convention of 16 September 1988, is hereby approved on behalf of the Community, subject to the conclusion of the said Convention. The text of the Convention is attached to this Decision.
