Article 8
1. Vegetable propagating and planting material may be marketed only by accredited suppliers and provided that they meet the requirements laid down in the schedule referred to in Article 4. 2. Without prejudice to the provisions of Directive 2000/29/EC, paragraph 1 shall not apply to vegetable propagating and planting material intended for: (a) trials or scientific purposes; or (b) selection work; or (c) measures aimed at preserving genetic diversity. 3. Detailed rules for the application of points (a), (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 shall be adopted as necessary in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 21(2).
