Denunciation

Article 6

Articles XXIV and XXV shall be deleted and replaced by the following new Articles: ‘Article XXIV Denunciation 1.   A Contracting Party may denounce this Convention by written notification to the Depositary on or before 30 June of any year. The denunciation shall take effect on 31 December of that same year. The Depositary shall without delay notify all other Contracting Parties. 2.   Any other Contracting Party may thereupon by written notification to the Depositary no later than 30 days following notification pursuant to paragraph 1 also denounce the Convention with effect on 31 December of that year. The Depositary shall without delay notify all other Contracting Parties. Article XXV Registration 1.   The original of the present Convention shall be deposited with the Government of Canada, which shall communicate certified copies thereof to all the Signatories and to all the Contracting Parties. 2.   The Depositary shall register the present Convention and any amendment thereof with the Secretariat of the United Nations.’
