Supervision by the national supervisory authorities

Article 30

1.   For the purposes laid down in Article 1(1) of this Regulation, each Member State shall provide that the national supervisory authority or authorities designated pursuant to Article 28(1) of Directive 95/46/EC shall monitor independently, in accordance with its respective national law, the lawfulness of the processing, in accordance with this Regulation, of personal data by the Member State in question, including their transmission to the Central System. 2.   Each Member State shall ensure that its national supervisory authority has access to advice from persons with sufficient knowledge of fingerprint data.
