Preparatory phase

Article 14

1.   During the preparatory phase of an inspection, the Agency shall: (a) give notice of the inspection to the competent authority at least 10 weeks before the on-site phase, including the intended type, domain(s) and areas for inspection; (b) collect the necessary information for the preparation of the inspection, taking duly into account the information available from continuous monitoring; (c) define the scope, the extent and the programme of the inspection, including the inspection of undertakings or association of undertakings, taking into account the information from continuous monitoring; (d) determine the size and the composition of the inspection team. 2.   Upon notice of the inspection, the competent authority shall cooperate with the Agency in order to prepare the on-site phase swiftly. If deemed necessary, a preliminary meeting may be organised between the inspection team and the national standardisation coordinator. 3.   The Agency shall provide the inspection programme and the composition of the team to the competent authority at least 2 weeks before the on-site phase.
