Complementary application of national law relating to infringement

Article 17

1.   The effects of EU trade marks shall be governed solely by the provisions of this Regulation. In other respects, infringement of an EU trade mark shall be governed by the national law relating to infringement of a national trade mark in accordance with the provisions of Chapter X. 2.   This Regulation shall not prevent actions concerning an EU trade mark being brought under the law of Member States relating in particular to civil liability and unfair competition. 3.   The rules of procedure to be applied shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of Chapter X.
