Processing of special categories of operational personal data
Article 55
1. Processing of operational personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade-union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, operational personal data concerning health or operational personal data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation shall be allowed only where strictly necessary for the EPPO’s investigations, subject to appropriate safeguards for the rights and freedoms of the data subject and only if they supplement other operational personal data already processed by the EPPO. 2. The Data Protection Officer shall be informed immediately of recourse to this Article.
