Basic format and structure of the data elements and standardised messages
Article 2
1. The format and structure of the data elements of the certificates of conformity in electronic format and the messages used in the exchange, referred to in point (a) of Article 37(8) of Regulation (EU) 2018/858, shall be based on Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema structure and principles. 2. The manufacturer and the approval authority shall use the standardised Initial Vehicle Information (IVI) messages developed by the EUCARIS nominated party for operation, for the exchange of the certificates of conformity as structured data in electronic format. 3. The IVI messages shall include all data elements of the certificate of conformity in paper format referred to in Article 36(1) of Regulation (EU) 2018/858.
