Objectives
Article 1
Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 is amended as follows: (1) Article 2 is replaced by the following: ‘Article 2 Objectives The strategic objectives of EUAM Iraq shall be: (1) to provide strategic advice and expertise to the Iraqi authorities on the civilian aspects of the Security Sector Reforms, including the National Security Strategy, associated national strategies and other national security priorities; (2) to analyse, assess and identify opportunities for further Union engagement at national, regional and provincial levels in support of the needs of the civilian Security Sector Reform; (3) together with the Union Delegation, to inform and facilitate the Union’s and Member States’ planning and implementation support in the field of civilian Security Sector Reform, ensuring coherence of Union action.’; (2) in Article 14(1), the following is inserted after the third sentence: ‘The financial reference amount to cover the expenditure related to EUAM Iraq for the period from 1 May 2022 to 30 April 2024 shall be EUR 70 056 766,51 ’; (3) in Article 17, the second sentence is replaced by the following: ‘It shall apply until 30 April 2024.’.
