Processing of API data by competent border authorities

Article 7

The competent border authorities shall process API data that they receive in accordance with this Regulation solely for the purpose of enhancing and facilitating the effectiveness and efficiency of border checks at external borders and of combating illegal immigration. The competent border authorities shall not process API data in such a way as to result in the profiling of individuals as referred to in Article 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 or to discriminate against persons on the grounds listed in Article 21 of the Charter.
