Admissibility of the application for registration at Union level

Article 2

1.   For admissibility, in addition to the requirements set out in Article 3 and 8 and Article 22(1) or Article 20(1) and Article 22(2) or Article 22(3), as applicable, and Article 22(6) and Article 65(3) of Regulation (EU) 2023/2411, an application for registration shall comply with Article 3, Article 7(1), Article 8 in the case of direct registrations and third-country applications and Articles 9 to 12 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1956  ( 4 ) . 2.   For admissibility, in addition to the requirements set out in Article 22(4) and (5) of Regulation (EU) 2023/2411, a joint application for registration shall comply with Article 6(1), (2) or (3) of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1956 and paragraph 1 of this Article. 3.   If an application is inadmissible, the Geographical Indication Division shall inform the competent authority and the applicant, as relevant, of the reasons for inadmissibility pursuant to Article 23(6) of Regulation (EU) 2023/2411.
