AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMUTATION AND PAYMENT IN CASH OF THE ACCRUED LEAVE OF GOVERNMENT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES DETAILED FOR SERVICE IN THE UNITED STATES OR IN SOME FOREIGN COUNTRY, OR SENT TO SUCH COUNTRIES AS GOVERNMENT STUDENTS.

Section 1

SECTION 1. Any provision of existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, the commutation of the accrued leave earned by Government officers and employees detailed for service in the United States or in some foreign country, or sent to such countries as Government students, is hereby authorized, and said leave shall be paid in cash on the date of their departure from the Philippine Islands, in addition to any other compensation or allowances which either may be entitled to receive outside of the Philippine Islands: Provided, That in case the person to whom accrued leave has been paid under the provisions of this Act returns to the Islands before the expiration of the leave granted, the same shall be required to return the money value of the leave not made use of outside of the Islands.

Section 2

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
