AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS TO PURCHASE OR EXPROPRIATE THE LOT ON WHICH DOCTOR JOSE RIZAL WAS BORN, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Section 1

SECTION 1. The Governor-General is hereby authorized to acquire by purchase, expropriation or otherwise, the lot, with the improvements thereon, formerly belonging to the parents of Doctor Jose Rizal, and on which the latter was born, situate in the municipality of Calamba, Laguna, Philippine Islands, and upon its acquisition, to convey it to said municipality, on the condition that the same obligate itself to erect on said lot a monument to the patriot Doctor Jose Rizal.

Section 2

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
