Section 1

SECTION 1. Section nineteen hundred and twenty of Act Numbered Twenty-seven hundred and eleven, known as the Administrative Code, is hereby amended to read follows: "SEC. 1920. Executive of contracts for public works. - Contracts awarded by the Director of Public Works for the construction or repair of public works and improvements of any kind for furnishing either labor or materials or both labor and materials shall be executed on behalf of the Government by said director, with the approval of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications. " Contracts awarded by a district engineer for the construction or repair of provincial public works and improvements of any kind for furnishing either labor or materials or both labor and materials shall be executed on behalf of the provincial government by said engineer, with the approval of the provincial board concerned. "Contracts awarded by a district engineer for the construction or repair of municipal public works or improvements undertaken on account of a municipality or other local political division for furnishing either labor or materials or both labor and materials shall be executed by the district engineer, with the approval of the local council of the political division concerned, if any."

Section 2

SEC. 2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Section 3

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval. Approved, October 24, 1929.
