SECTION 1. The late Manuel de Yriarte, Director of the National Museum, who rendered faithful and satisfactory service in the Government during more than twenty years, is hereby considered retired in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Twenty-five hundred and eighty-nine, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-three hundred and sixty, and for the purpose hereof, said retirement shall be as effective as if an application therefor had been filed after December fourth, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven, and as if the same had been acted upon favorably prior to June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight.
