AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, MONEY OF THE UNITED STATES, TO AID IN PAYING THE EXPENSES OF A COMMISSION OF CONFERENCE AT PEKING, CHINA, LOOKING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GOLD STANDARD IN THE ORIENT.

Preamble

By authority of the United States, and with the consent and recommendation of the Secretary of War first had, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriate, the sum of ten thousand dollars, in money of the United States, to be expended for the purpose of aiding in the payment of the expenses of a commission appointed by the President of United States, about to visit Peking to bring about international cooperation in securing a fixed ratio between gold and silver coin in the Orient. This sum shall be withdrawn upon requisition of the Civil Governor and shall be disbursed by the Disbursing Agent of the insular Government in Washington, District of Columbia, and shall be accounted for to the Auditor for the Philippine Islands as required by law in other cases.

Section 2

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 3

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
