AN ACT REGULATING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DIRECTOR OR CHIEF OF A HOSPITAL, IN THE EXTENSION OF CREDITS WITH RESPECT TO SUBSISTENCE AND TREATMENT OF PATIENTS UNDER HIS ADMINISTRATIVE JURISDICTION.

Section 1

SECTION 1. Except in cases of negligence or bad faith the salaries, share, privilege and other compensation due the director or chief of a Government Hospital, shall not be confiscated or suspended in whole or in part for failure to collect the accounts of patients treated in the hospitals under his administrative jurisdiction.

Section 2

SEC. 2. Except by judicial order, the Insular Auditor, or his authorized representative, cannot confiscate or suspend in whole or in part the salary, share, privilege or any other compensation due the director or chief of a Government Hospital without making investigation of the case and without the approval of the proper Department Head. In case the salary, share, privilege or compensation of a director or chief of hospital is confiscated or suspended in pursuance of this Act, the confiscation or suspension of the salary, share, privilege, or compensation due, shall take effect on the date the decision has been handed.

Section 3

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
