SECTION 1. A portion of Barangay Matandang Balara in Quezon City, Metropolitan Manila, is separated therefrom and constituted into a new barangay to be known as Barangay Batasan Hills.

AN ACT CREATING BARANGAY BATASAN HILLS IN QUEZON CITY, METROPOLITAN MANILA.
SEC. 2. The new barangay shall include the area which is bounded by the National Government Center—Batasan Complex to the boundary line of Barangay Bagong Silangan on the north; by the Marikina River on the east; by the Don Mariano Marcos Avenue on the west; and by the Capitol Homes to the Marikina River on the south.
SEC. 3. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected within one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first officials of the new barangay who shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.
SEC. 4. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite herein provided, the expenses for which shall be charged to local funds.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
